About the treatment programme
The treatment programme consists of individual therapy sessions with a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist, at one of our outpatient centres.
The treatment programme is for persons over the age of 18 who have a sexual interest in children. We know that many people find it difficult to achieve a fulfilling life when they have such an interest.
You will meet therapists with expertise in this particular concern, who are dedicated to working with people like yourself. The therapists know that people with a sexual interest in children do not usually act on their thoughts.
The therapy addresses your individual needs and is adapted to you – in terms of the content of the therapy, how often you need therapy, and for how long. The aim of the therapy is to improve your quality of life and independence, and at the same time prevent child sexual abuse.
After your treatment programme has ended, you will be offered follow-up support, at your option.
Therapy is available at Oslo University Hospital, Stavanger University Hospital, Haukeland University Hospital, University hospital of North Norway and St. Olavs hospital, Trondheim University Hospital.
The user fee is NOK 445 in 2026. This fee also applies to telephone and video consultations.
For more information about user fees, see helsenorge.no.
